Thanks to Steel-High head football coach Andrew Erby who spoke March 22. He enlightened the Hall of Fame audience into the success of the Roller’s program and its recent state championships.

Thanks to Bishop McDevitt head football coach Jeff Weachter for being our February guest speaker on short notice! He gave us great insight to his 2022 State Championship season! Everyone had a great time. Next dinner is Wednesday, March 22. Speaker TBA.

Former Steel-High, PSU, and Seattle Seahawk Jordan Hill was our guest speaker Nov 16, 2022.

Pro bowler Darryl Bower was our guest speaker September 28, 2022.

The 2022 Induction Banquet was held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the Red Lion Hotel. Inductees include: Ron Collier, Arthur Cover, Ronald Davis, Hyleas Fountain, Owen Hannah, Duke McKamey, John Wilsbach, Sharon Etter, Ben Olsen, Dolores Bimle, and Frank Mathers.

Thanks to Randy Whitaker of the Harrisburg Senators who enlightened us Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Randy informed us the Senators plan to have a 35th Reunion of the 1st season (1987) on May 14th.

Wednesday January 26, 2022 Dennis Owens of ABC27 was our guest speaker. He enlightened the Chapter with stories of his coverage of Central PA Sports and his love of Philadelphia sports. Our next dinner/meeting is March 23, 2022 with Randy Whitaker of the Senators. Plan to join us!


Guest speaker Four Chapman, former head coach at Bishop McDevitt, lit up the room with stories of the McDevitt/Harrisburg at the September 2021 meeting.

Chartered in 1967, the Capital Area Chapter is one of 30 community-based chapters of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.
Geographically, our chapter encompasses Harrisburg and its east shore, primarily Dauphin County.
The purpose of the Chapter is to recognize athletes, coaches and administrators who have brought lasting fame and recognition to the Greater Harrisburg area.
Beginning with its inaugural Class of Hall of Famers in 1967, the Chapter has immortalized over 410 men and women for their accomplishments in sports.
The 53rd Annual Induction Ceremony was held June 15th, 2019 LIVING INDUCTEES: Marques Colston, Emery Cook , Ricky Diggs, Luke Drayer, Jay Rountree, Mike Scheib, Russ Strohecker. DECEASED INDUCTEES: Carl Scheib, Clarence “Fats” Jenkins.
The 2020 and 2021 Induction Banquets were cancelled because of COVID. The Class of 2020 was inducted on June 11, 2022 at the Red Lion Inn, Lindle Road, Harrisburg. There is no Class of 2021. The class of 2022 was Ron Collier, Ron Davis, Sharon Etter, Owen Hannah, Duke McKamey, John Wilsbach, Ben Olsen and Hyleas Fountain. Deceased inductees were Dolores Bimle and Frank Mathers.

Membership meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of every other month starting September, at the Middletown Moose lodge in Middletown, Pa.
