Chartered in 1967, the Capital Area Chapter is one of 30 community-based chapters of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.

Geographically, our chapter encompasses Harrisburg and its east shore, primarily Dauphin County.

The purpose of the Chapter is to recognize athletes, coaches and administrators who have brought lasting fame and recognition to the Greater Harrisburg area.

Beginning with its inaugural Class of Hall of Famers in 1967, the Chapter has immortalized 410 men and women for their accomplishments in sports.

The 53rd Annual Induction Ceremony will be held June 15th, 2019 LIVING INDUCTEES: Marques Colston, Emery Cook , Ricky Diggs, Luke Drayer, Jay Rountree, Mike Scheib, Russ Strohecker. DECEASED INDUCTEES: Carl Scheib, Clarence “Fats” Jenkins.

Robert Tate had to cancel attendance for this year due to scheduling & communication problems. He will be part of the Class of 2020, next year. He lives in Arizona.

Nominations are now being accepted through Dec. 31 for the Chapter’s Hall of Fame Class of 2020. Forms may be downloaded from https://cachof.files.wordpress.com/2017/09/cac-hof-nomination-form.pdf

Nominations for the Class of 2020 are being accepted through December, and may be submitted only by Chapter members.  Just complete a nomination form and return it to:

Voting will take place in early 2020 with the Class of 2020 to be inducted in June , 2020 at the Red Lion Hotel Harrisburg East, 4751 Lindle Road, Harrisburg.

Chapter membership is open to all. With more than 350 members, the Capital Area Chapter is one of the largest of the state’s 30 chapters.

New life memberships are now available, too.

Membership meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month, except for July and December, at the Middletown Moose lodge in Middletown,  Pa.


With the generous support of Highmark Blue Shield, the Chapter now annually awards $3,000 in college scholarships to local high school boys and girls senior student-athletes.

This year’s scholarship winners will be awarded in June at our Chapter dinner/meeting at the Middletown Moose Lodge in Middletown June 26th at 6 PM.
